About Marianne
Born and raised in Chicago, I spent my adult life in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and now Tucson. I started my art career teaching in Zimbabwe with my family after teaching high school history in NYC, Chicago, and Minneapolis.
I came to my art rather late in my professional life. It is clear that our experience living abroad had a large influence on me. The colors and textures of Southern Africa impressed me deeply. Doing art was a way to bring that experience home.
I have been a full-time artist since 1990. I create one-of-a-kind jewelry, canvas floor cloths, collage wall hangings and decorator pillows that incorporate collage pieces.
The floor cloth classes that I offer in my studio are another way to share and enjoy being an artist. Teaching will always be part of what I do.
